Weekend Weather Update
June 15, 2018
The tropical wave is moving slowly and has not yet made it into the Gulf. The National Weather Service predicts that we will see our heaviest rainfall Sunday through Tuesday. We can expect widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches through the course of the event, but the focus will be the intense rainfall expected for Sunday afternoon through Monday evening.
Bottom line expect rain this weekend:
- rain may be moving across the same areas causing some street flooding
- use caution when driving
- ponding on roadways may increase risk of hydroplaning
The Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and its partners will continue to monitor and update on the progress and conditions of this tropical wave.
